Description

Dense, dark coloured, coarse grained igneous, plutonic rock. Peridotite consists of more than 90% of millimeter-to-centimeter-sized crystals of olivine, pyroxene, and hornblende, with more than 40% olivine. Other minerals: plagioclase, chromite and garnet. Contains no quartz.
